Introduction

The Information and Communication Technology Department (ICTD) is under the direct supervision of the Permanent Secretary, Special Duties Office (SDO). The Department is charged with the responsibility to design and manage the concepts, specification, standardization and development of a model ICT environment that would drive an efficient and effective service delivery in the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation in the line with best practices.

Mandate
The Department is charged with the responsibility of designing and managing the concepts, specification, standardization and development of a model ICT environment that would drive an efficient and effective service delivery in the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation in line with best practices. In this regard, the Department is responsible for the following:

  • To initiate and supervise all ICT infrastructure development along with the user Departments/Units in line with global best practices;
  • To design and support regular updating of ICT Proficiency knowledge of staff along with Human Resources Department in order to improve their capacities on the application of ICT tools; and

To harmonize and centrally manage all ICT Resources (human and materials) in the OHCSF in a more efficient and professional manner in order to promote e-government environment.

Objectives
A model ICT Department that pursues and promotes the e-governance strategies of Government in an effective and efficient manner in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation";

To ensure that ICT infrastructure and resources are put in place and managed by a team of well trained, skilled, motivated and dedicated workforce for the benefit of the Office and the Public in general"

  • To create a more conducive environment with which ICT tools can be effectively and efficiently utilized in order to promote good governance; and
  • To promote ICT culture, ethics and norms in an ICT-Driven environment.
