PERMANENT SECRETARY, CMO BAGS FELLOW OF NIGERIAN ENGINEERING INSTITUTE.

The Permanent Secretary, Career Management Office, in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), Dr. Marcus Olaniyi Ogunbiyi has been awarded Fellow of Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers (NIAE).

The National Chairman of the institution, Engr. Prof. Folarin Alonge presented the award to him at an impressive ceremony which comprise Fellowship Induction and Public Lecture held on Thursday 20th January 2022 at the National Engineering Center NSE Headquarters, Abuja.

Engr. Dr. Ogunbiyi will henceforth be addressed as Engr. Dr. Marcus Olaniyi Ogunbiyi, FNIAE. Until his appointment as Permanent Secretary, he was Director, South West Zonal office of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Engr. Dr. Marcus Ogunbiyi, FNIAE studied Agricultural Engineering and Mechanization at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State graduating in 1988. He obtained Msc in Agricultural Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife in 1992. He thereafter obtained another Msc in Agro-Bioresources Science and Technology in 2011 from the University of Tsukaba, Tsukubashi, Japan.

He later proceeded to the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State, where he bagged a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Crop Storage and Processing in 2019.

Engr. Dr. Ogunbiyi has had a number of scientific papers in local and international journals to his credit. He has also authored post-harvest handling manuals on selected fruits and vegetables.

He is a corporate member of the Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers (NIAE), the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and a registered member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineers in Nigeria (COREN).
