CIVIL SERVICE WEEK: ACTING HCSF COMMENDS WORKERS ON SPORTS

The Acting Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (Ag HCSF), Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan has commended workers participation and commitment in sports activities for greater effective and efficient service delivery.

She gave the commendation during the Sporting Activities and Medical Screening/Gymnasium to mark the 2019 Civil Service Week Celebration at the National Stadium, Abuja on Saturday, 21st September, 2019.

The Ag HCSF who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Service Policies and Strategies Office in the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, said sporting activities would enhance inter-agencies relationships in Nigerian Public Service.

The sporting activities featured both male and female football tournaments. The male football team representing the Office of Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) won the trophy by beating their counterpart from Federal Ministry of Science and Technology in a penalty shoot-out. The female football team representing the Federal Ministry of Defence beat their counterpart from (OHCSF) to win the trophy. There are other competitions in the track and field events.  

Dr. Ajani encouraged public servants not to shy away from sporting activities because sports help both physical and mental development for optimal efficiency and productivity.

She therefore urged workers to be dedicated to service and continue to show resilience to duty for the progress of the country.
