FG ASSURES FEDERAL CIVIL SERVANTS OF CONDUCIVE WORKING ENVIRONMENT

The Federal Government has assured Federal Civil Servants of its commitment towards ensuring a conducive working environment for effective service delivery.

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita, gave this assurance at the 2nd Quarterly Breakfast Meeting of the Office of Head of Civil Service of the Federation with Union Leaders in the Federal Civil Service held on Wednesday, 14th February, 2018 in Abuja.

Mrs. Oyo-Ita said a committee on Office Allocation and Expansion has been set up with a focus on maintenance, rehabilitation and expansion of office allocations to Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

Similarly, she disclosed that in furtherance of her commitment to ensure safety in workplaces, two Committees on the Development of Policy Framework for Public Service Disaster Prevention and Safety Management, and a Joint Committee for the Development of a Framework for the Implementation of Occupational Safety and Health programmes in the Public Service have been constituted and will be inaugurated on Friday, 16th February, 2018.

Speaking earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare Office in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack expressed Federal Government’s readiness to have a harmonious industrial relationship with the organized labour.

 Mrs.  Wilson-Jack thanked the Union leaders for their understanding, noting that since the successful hosting of the 1st edition of the breakfast meeting, there has been a harmonious working relationship between government and the unions.
